Our adress
The office is located in the heart of Paris, in what was once the private mansion of the Marquis de Louvois, at 69 rue Sainte-Anne. Close to the Louvre, Hôtel Drouot, the Palais Brogniart and the Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art, the Cabinet Turquin has become an important centre for the Paris art market. This initiative, undertaken by Bruno de Bayser when he moved there in 1985, was continued by Eric Turquin when he took over the first floor of the building in 1989, with the two offices developing and reinforcing each other. This was followed in 2017 with the arrival of experts in sculpture, Lacroix & Jeannest, then in 2019 by Artcento, a communication and consulting agency specializing in the art market.
The former Hôtel de Louvois has thus become a centre of art expertise, a large "art house" that brings together professionals, but also a central point for the art market, where international dealers and curators regularly come by on the occasion of major Parisian events such as the Biennale, Paris Fine Arts and the Salon du Dessin. Exhibitions, conferences and receptions organized at rue Sainte-Anne are an important part of the Parisian season and are opportunities for art lovers and professionals alike to ring the bell and push open the old door of the Hotel Louvois. Each day, it is a hive of activity where everyone crosses paths, where art historians find support and documentary sources, where dealers, auctioneers and private individuals meet in the presence of works that, after entering the office, are revealed with all their individual qualities and richness. Several weeks before being sold, the paintings are hung in the office's viewing rooms, creating a continuous exhibition that is constantly renewed.
The works entrusted to the office for appraisal are insured free of charge for the duration of their stay on rue Sainte-Anne, and benefiting from an appropriate security system.
